3 Spots To Check Out This Spring!

Merri Creek Trail

The Merri Creek Trail is famous here in the North. Spanning 21km starting from the corner of Gray Street and Trenerry Cresent in Clifton Hill and finishing on Birchwood Street in Reservoir. Make a day of it with the family and pop into CERES Enviromental Park and enjoy a bite to eat at the Merri Cafe – or better yet pick up some fresh produce and baked bread and have a picnic at Phillips Reserve. This is the perfect trail for any cyclist.

Canning Street

For those still finding their pedals, Canning Street is a fantastic spot to gain confidence riding on the road. Starting at the northern end of Carlton Gardens and spanning 2.6km through to Park Street Carlton North, Canning Street is a popular spot for those commuting in and out of the city and for weekend rides. With dedicated bike lanes, larger in width than most, you can ride with ease with enough space. In the 1970s many Melbourne streets, including Canning Street, were given filtered Permeability, closing off the street to cars. This has created a safe inviting space for people to enjoy their local green space, without the fear of cars. En route, you will pass the popular Curtain Square Park, providing an ideal spot for family outings, sports activities, or a visit to the dog park.

Capital City Trail

The Capital City Trail is extremely popular for both visitors and locals to Melbourne – and for good reason. The trail acts as a loop around Melbourne, passing some of our most iconic landmarks. Catch a glimpse of Melbourne Zoo, Marvel Stadium, Southern Cross Station, Polly Woodside, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne Arts Centre, The Botanic Gardens, Shrine of Remembrance and the MCG just to name a few. Finish off your ride at the Abbotsford Convent and Childrens farm, a wonderful place to have lunch, and see the animals while exploring the farm. The Capital City Train is truly the perfect ride.
